Custom Touch Lamp

Prototyping a functional idea.

This is a project I ran across on the CG Trader request board. A customer needed a lamp designed and prototyped that used touch-sensitivity as its on-off switch and that simulated a dimming effect both ways. A previous designer had begun designing the lamp casing, but was unable to take it any further. Using the partial case design and the customer's input, 2 different versions of the lamp were produced. The non-electronic parts were 3D printed and assembled in-house. Both the touch trigger and dimming effect were achieved by integrating a custom programmed Arduino microcontroller for each lamp.
